Cozy Carrom ("the app", "we", "us") is a carrom board game for iPhone with computer opponents and local two-player play on one device. This policy explains what information the app handles, how advertising and purchases work, and what choices you have, wherever you live.
The short version
- You don't need an account, and the app doesn't ask for your name, email, photos, contacts, or precise location.
- Your game progress and settings are stored on your device. We don't operate a server that holds them.
- The app shows ads through Google AdMob. Google may collect some device and usage information to serve and measure those ads. We request non-personalized ads only.
- If you make an in-app purchase, Apple handles the payment. We never receive your payment card details.
Who we are
Cozy Carrom is developed by Shivam Joshi, an individual developer based in British Columbia, Canada. For the purposes of this policy, Shivam Joshi is the party responsible for the app.

Information the app handles
1. Game data stored on your device
The app saves the following on your device so the game works as expected:
- Saved matches and game state
- Game configuration, and sound and haptic preferences
- Tutorial progress
- Counters and timestamps used to control how often ads appear
- Backup copies of save files, used to recover from a damaged save
- Your ad-consent state, which Google's consent tool stores locally
- Purchase entitlements (for example, whether ads have been removed), if purchases are available in your version of the app
This data stays on your device. We do not receive it or have access to it. If you use iCloud or another device backup, your backup may include copies of it, under Apple's terms.
2. Advertising data (Google AdMob)
The app uses Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) to show ads. Google's SDK runs inside the app and communicates directly with Google. According to Google, the SDK may collect and process information such as:
- IP address, and approximate location inferred from it
- Device and advertising identifiers
- Device and app information (for example, device model, operating system version, and app version)
- Ad interactions, such as ad views and taps
- Crash and performance information
- Your privacy and consent choices
We have configured the app to request non-personalized ads only. Non-personalized ads aren't based on your past behaviour across apps and sites, but Google still processes data such as the items above to deliver ads, limit how often they appear, prevent fraud, and measure performance. We have also turned off the option that lets us use first-party identifiers for advertising.
Google acts as an independent party for this processing, and its handling of your data is governed by its own policies:
Google's advertising service may involve its own advertising partners, which Google explains in those policies. If we add other advertising partners in the future, we will update this policy.
3. Consent and privacy choices
Where required by law, the app shows a consent message provided by Google's User Messaging Platform before ads are requested. When Google requires it to be available, you can reopen this message at any time from Settings in the app to review or change your choices.
4. In-app purchases
The app may offer in-app purchases, such as removing ads. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your name, payment card details, or billing information. We may receive confirmation that a purchase was completed, which the app uses to unlock the purchased feature on your device. Apple's handling of your information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
5. Support emails
If you contact us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to respond to you and improve the app. We keep support emails only as long as needed to help you and for up to 12 months afterward, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.
6. Apple diagnostics
If you have chosen to share analytics or crash data with app developers in your device settings, Apple may make aggregated or anonymized diagnostic information available to us through its developer tools. We do not receive this information in a form that identifies you.
What the app currently does not do
- It does not require an account or login.
- It does not use a dedicated analytics or crash-reporting SDK.
- It does not request access to your contacts, photos, microphone, camera, or precise location.
- It does not request permission to track you across other companies' apps and websites through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt.
If we add features that change any of the above, we will update this policy before or when those features are released.
How we use information
- Game data is used to run the game on your device.
- Advertising data is processed by Google to serve, limit, secure, and measure ads, which helps fund the app.
- Purchase information is used to provide the features you bought.
- Support emails are used to respond to you and to maintain and improve the app.
- Legal and safety purposes: we may use information as needed to comply with the law, enforce our rights, or protect the app and its users.
Legal bases (where applicable). Where laws such as the GDPR require a legal basis, we rely on: your consent (for advertising choices collected through the consent message); performance of a contract (to provide purchased features); and our legitimate interests (to respond to support requests and maintain the app), balanced against your rights.
How we share information
We do not run any data-selling or data-sharing arrangement of our own. Information is shared or made available only in these ways:
- Google, through the advertising SDK, as described above.
- Apple, through the App Store, for purchases and any diagnostics you've chosen to share.
- Legal reasons: if required by law, legal process, or to protect rights and safety.
- Business changes: if the app is transferred to another owner, information we hold (limited to support correspondence) may transfer with it, subject to this policy.
Retention
- On-device data has no expiry. It stays on your device until it is replaced or you delete it.
- Support emails are kept for the period described above.
- Data processed by Google or Apple is retained according to their policies, which we don't control.
Controlling and deleting your data
Because we don't hold your game data, you control it directly:
- Delete the app to remove its locally stored data. Note that "offloading" the app keeps its data on your device.
- Copies may remain in device backups until those are deleted or overwritten.
- Advertising choices: use the privacy options in the app's Settings (when available) and your device's privacy settings.
- Support emails: to have a support email deleted, contact hello@cozycarrom.com.
- Deleting the app does not necessarily erase data Google has already processed. See Google's policies above.
Children's privacy
Cozy Carrom is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under the minimum age set by local law in your country). If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
International data transfers
We are based in Canada. Google, Apple, and their service providers operate globally, so advertising-related and purchase-related data may be processed in countries other than the one where you live, including the United States. Where required, those companies use legal safeguards for international transfers, which they describe in their own policies.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information. These may include the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your information
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Receive a copy of your information in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time
- Not be treated unfairly for exercising your rights
- Complain to your local privacy or data protection authority
The personal information we may actually hold is limited to support emails you send us. To exercise any right, email hello@cozycarrom.com. We may need to verify your identity, and we will respond within the time required by applicable law. We don't hold your on-device game data and cannot access data held by Google or Apple, but we will point you to the right place for those requests.
Regional notes
- Canada: You may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, in British Columbia, the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for BC if you have a concern we haven't resolved.
- European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland: You have the rights described in the GDPR and UK GDPR, and you may complain to your local data protection authority.
- United States (including California and other states with privacy laws): We do not sell personal information ourselves. Advertising through Google may be treated as a "sale" or "sharing" for advertising purposes under some state laws. Where that applies, you can use the privacy options in the app's Settings and your device settings to control advertising. You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.
- Other countries: We will honor privacy rights that apply to you under your local law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we add features, change advertising or analytics providers, or launch in new regions. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. If changes are material, we will also notify you in the app or on the App Store page where appropriate.
